PEP check is used by auditors, lawyers, tax advisors, developers, auctioneers, investment companies and funds, notaries, securities traders, payment institutions, headquarters providers, service providers associated with virtual assets, real estate brokers, and others.
Whether the client is a PEP can be determined by:
1) conducting your own research on the internet using the national PEP functions list published by FAÚ,
2) using our PEP check software, which is specifically developed for checking and searching PEP clients,
3) obtaining a written declaration from the client during identification at the beginning of the transaction/business relationship.
Note: according to FAÚ Methodological Guideline No. 7 dated July 17, 2024, using only one method to determine PEP status, such as using only the client’s written declaration without any additional methods, is not sufficient.
The result of the PEP client determination process should be as reliable as possible, therefore FAÚ strongly recommends that the above methods for determining PEP status be combined in practice. The mandatory person, in accordance with the risk assessment, should not always rely solely on information provided by the client, but should also try to use other information sources, especially for high-risk PEPs.
PEP check is not just an online database of politically exposed persons. See what other functionalities our application offers.
PEP check contains the most comprehensive regularly updated database of Czech and foreign PEPs in accordance with FAÚ Methodological Guideline No. 7
