Cookie Usage Policy for Obtaining Personal Data

1. Principles of Using Network Identifiers

When providing its services and making its content available to users of the website https://www.pepcheck.cz (hereinafter referred to as the "website"), AML solutions s.r.o., headquartered at Na Strži 1702/65, 140 00 Prague 4, ID No.: 106 91 766, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, file no. C 346730 (hereinafter referred to as "AML solutions"), uses network identifiers, so-called cookies, in order to enable and enhance the use of the website.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are stored on your device through the internet browser you use. Without these files, using the website would be more complicated and less user-friendly. Cookies allow the website you visit to remember settings related to the visited website (e.g., chosen language, login information, or preferred settings on the visited website). When you return to the website, the browser retrieves the identifiers associated with that website. This way, the site retains your settings. Thanks to cookies, repeated visits to the website are more user-friendly. Consent to the use of cookies is given for a period of 6 months. If you wish to continue using cookies after this period, consent must be renewed.

3. Types of cookies

Cookies are categorized by their duration of use, their necessity, and by which entity places them on your device.

  • According to the duration of use, cookies are divided into two categories:
    • Session cookies, which are automatically deleted from the computer immediately after the browser is closed. These cookies are essential for the proper functionality of the website.
    • Persistent cookies, which remain stored on the computer for a longer period depending on the settings of your internet browser. Persistent cookies can be manually deleted at any time. These cookies are useful for easier navigation on the website.
  • According to their necessity, cookies are divided into the following categories:
    • Necessary, without which the website could not function, are essential for transmitting information, such as preserving the contents of a shopping cart or remembering the user's consent to (non-)use of cookies.
    • Others, which are primarily used to facilitate the transmission of information, measure traffic, or analyze user behavior on the website. These are further divided into marketing, analytical, and preference cookies.
      • Marketing cookies – used for better targeting of ads and their personalization. These cookies track visitors across websites and collect information to provide customized ads.
      • Analytical/Statistical cookies – enable the tracking of website visitors' interactions with content and provide data on the number of visitors, the time spent on the website, etc.
      • Functional/Preference cookies – serve to improve the functionality of the website and ease its use by remembering user preferences and adapting the site accordingly (language, currency settings, etc.).
      • Performance cookies – allow understanding and analyzing key performance indicators of the website, helping to provide a better user experience for visitors.
  • According to which entity creates and stores cookies on your device, cookies are divided into two categories:
    • First-party cookies are created directly by the data controller who operates the visited website. These are most commonly used to ensure the basic functionality of the website.
    • Third-party cookies are created by data controllers other than the operator of the visited website. These are most commonly cookies from advertising service providers or cookies for analyzing website traffic.

4. What do we use cookies for?

AML solutions primarily uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Tracking analytical data necessary to determine and evaluate the content that interests you on our website. Thanks to cookies, we are able to tailor the website content to individual users. We also use the services of external providers for tracking analytical data regarding traffic, who have their own effective personal data protection systems.
  • Customizing the website settings in terms of personalization for the user.
  • Remembering login and logout information for registered users.
  • Securing the website. Cookies help us verify users and serve to prevent fraudulent activities and protect user data.

5. Third-party cookies

As mentioned above, our website also contains cookies from our contractual partners. These cookies are managed by third parties, and AML solutions does not have access to read or write these data. These are mainly advertising or marketing systems or website traffic analysis tools.

These partners are:

  • Google – for more information about this system, click here;
  • Google Analytics – for more information about this system, click here.

6. How to adjust cookie settings?

Due to changes in legislation, websites can no longer use cookies without your active consent, as the principle has shifted from opt-out (your consent was assumed and had to be revoked) to opt-in (you need to actively provide your consent). However, this does not apply to necessary cookies, which still operate on an opt-out basis, meaning that you can revoke your consent for them in your browser settings. As mentioned in Article 2 of this document, consent or refusal to use cookies is granted for a period of 6 months, after which the website will again prompt you to grant or refuse consent.

A so-called cookie banner has been added to the website to obtain your consent for cookie usage. This banner is divided into two layers. In the first layer, you can consent to the use of all types of cookies, refuse the use of all cookies that operate on an opt-in basis, close the cookie banner and leave the decision for later, or click on the "settings" hyperlink to access the second layer of the cookie banner, where you can consent to the use of individual types of cookies.

In the second layer of the cookie banner, you will find a link to these Cookie Usage Rules for obtaining personal data. Below is a list of cookies used by the website, categorized by type, and the relevant cookies under each type can be expanded by clicking on the name of the given cookie type. Next to the cookie type names, there is a switch, which by default is set to indicate that you do not consent to the use of that type. If you want to allow the website to use a particular type of cookie, you need to click on the switch to actively grant your consent.

You can change your decision at any time while using the website by clicking on the field located in the footer of the website, which will bring up the cookie banner again, allowing you to decide once more which type of cookies you consent to or refuse. This consent/refusal will again be valid for 6 months from the date of the last change.

Please note that by not consenting to the use of certain types of cookies, the user experience on the website may be negatively affected, and your ability to use some services provided by the website may be limited. This concerns the functions related to specific types of cookies, as described in Article 3.

If you block the collection and storage of cookies in your internet browser, we will no longer process any of your network identifiers or other information that can be obtained through cookies.

Detailed information on setting cookie storage in your browser can be found on the websites of individual browser providers.
